Need help with an A340E

The A340E in my '93 2wd went out, and when I bought a used replacement I didn't notice it was for a 3rd gen, or a Taco. So after moving the shift linkage to the other side, and swapping in the sensors from my old trans (so the harness would plug and play). It wont up shift until I reach 5k RPM. does anybody know if the rotating speed trigger in the 2nd gen has 2 magnets, and the 3rd gen has one? That being the reason I have to spin it twice as fast to get it to shift. Or if using the sensor from the 3rd gen with a spliced in 3rd gen plug would work? Or if there is anyway to make it a manual valve body? (Not a manual trans swap. I only have one leg) I'm in Cali. and can't pass smog until I can get it to shift correctly. Thank you for any help.

After looking at the schematics for both a 93, and a 3rd gen 4runner, I've found that even the earliest 3rd gen has a completely different valve body, with one less shift solenoid, you would have to swap the old one into the newer case, if it will accept it.
