Need help with an idea...

I tried posting in the off road section and only go 3 replies. So maybe Ill do better here...

What my idea is a mount that will let you aim your off road lights. Basically what you will have to do is lift the light, move to the direction you want, drop it back down and then it locks.

What do you guys think? Let me know.

I read your other post and it didnt make much sense, and I'm still not 100% certain of exactly what you have in mind here. Lets clarify this if we can.
When you say 'off road lights' you are talking about auxillary lighting such as driving/spot/fog lights (IPF's, Hellas, PIAA etc) that are usually mounted to a bumper.
All lights can be aimed easily allready, you simply loosen the mount nut/bolt, adjust the light to point where you want and then retighten the nut/bolt.
So the device that you have in mind is something that will more easily allow the driver to quickly make adjustments without using tools, right? For example, whilst driving down the road at night time, one light seems to be pointing too far to the left. The driver pulls over, goes to the offending light and flips a lever (your device) that unlocks the light, makes the adjustment, then relocks the light (with your device). The driver is back in the car in less than a minute.
Am I on the right track?

YES that is an awsome idear!
i dont know what i could compare it to but i know exactly what u guys are talking about... EASY ADJUSTMENT! and STILL LOOKS COOL!

It would be simple to set up a quick release like on bicycle tires/seats. I think something with a key would be more useful, kind of like on trailer locks, you use the key to tighten or loosen turn by turn.

Sounds cool. But I've always wanted one of those spot lights that cops have on the side of there Crown Vics'. Super powerful, moveable, and you don't have to get out of your car. I knew a guy who had it done on his Pick up in AZ and I've seen a couple of people with them here in Montana. I've getting one as soon as I can find out where.
