Need help with an old title.

So I just picked up a 1973 Honda CL350. The story is, I guess whoever bought the bike from the original owner didn't sign/register the title and it had sat in his garage for quite some time. One of my buddies then bought it off that guy and was going to use it for a parts bike. He then found out I was looking for an older CB or CL and sold it to me. So the problems I see are 1. No bill of sale 2.Title is from IL (Im in MO) 3. The original owner registered the thing in 1995 and theirs no records after that.

What am I suppose to do? I don't even know where to start, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You start by calling the MVA in your state. They make the rules and regulations.

I'm aware of that, just wanted some opinions before I got slammed with 18 years of late fees.
