Need help with Dash removal, And wire diagram.

Ok I have a 2002 4runner limited, I just ordered all new speakers/tweeters/and a amp. Replacing the old sound system.

I have a few questions.

1. Since its a 6 speaker system where can i get a wire diagram to tell me what all the wires are going into the Head unit?
2. How do i remove the center console to get to the headunit?
3. And remember:worthless

Thanks, I also have another question Where is the factory amp at? because i am hooking up a new amp and if the wire colors change from the amp to the speakers its a headache. Pictures are welcome!

don't use factory wiring for new speakers, please run all new speaker wire, your speakers/amp will thank you

Thanks Guys I highly appreciate your input, And Bootown is your 4runner color the Golden Pearl? Cause thats what mine is and it absolutely makes the 4runner THE 4runner.

BTW Magnum, With running new speaker wire how do you tap back into the wire harness itself?? Just splice close the the connectors?

You don't go into the harness if you bought a aftermarket amp.

Speakers get wire from them to aftermarket amp
Aftermarket amp gets RCA's to aftermarket head unit

If you are keeping stock head unit, DON'T! Get a new one, you can get a nice alpine for like 100$.

Can you explain that first part a little more its kinda confusing.

And why cant i keep the stock HU, Its The nice digital one with all the settings i need to adjust things.

explain to me then how you are going to hook up your amp which most likely only has rca outputs to a stock head unit?

The Amp is a Two channel amp, And since the system is a 6 speaker system, and the factory tweeters run off the front speakers, We are just slicing them together. Its very hard for me to explain but i have a friend that works in a Audio shop he would be able to explain it better.

So you are going to run six speakers off a two channel amp which is only supposed to drive either 2 speakers or a component system which consist of 2 speakers and two tweeters? I don't care where he works you are not installing this correctly. Have fun.

First off I really dont appreciate the attitude your giving, The purpose of the forums is supposed to help others not put them down, First off just take a look at the amp, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_20079_Absolute+SNA-2000.2.html

Now your telling me that a Peak watt of 2000 and
# RMS Power Rating:

* 4 ohms: 95 watts x 2 chan.
* Bridged, 4 ohms: 200 watts x 1 chan.

^^^ you saying that wont work???

Im not looking for a crazy thumping system, I want it to sound better than the stock thats all.

you could always do this, but run the amp to the speakers instead of a sub.

and as far as dash removal.... lift up your center console lid, and pull up on the plastic shroud around your e brake, it should pop off with a little bit of force. from there just pull each dash trim piece in sequence from closest to you forward ( next is around the shifter, then the main dash pops off)

if you need to get around the steering wheel, there are 4 10mm bolts around the lower dash. pull all of those out. i believe next is the 3 screws in the steering wheel. pull the steering wheel covers off. and from there you should be good. trim pieces on the door im not so sure on

Thats what we planned on doing, Although that is a good helpful link. And it should really be common sense as to taking apart the dash. Pretty simple if you ask me.
