need help with exhaust!!!!!!!!

ok so this is going to be my first mod to my 4Runner and I need suggestions on exhaust set-ups. I'm thinking about doing a Flowmaster like 2 feet after the cat and then dump it right off about a foot after the muffler instead of going all the way back but everybody that i have talked to about it doesn't like the idea. So please everybody give me your ideas good or bad thank you in advance. Oh and its a 06' with the 4.0L.

i am another newbie that is looking to do an exhaust on my 09 v-8 sport. cat back, any difference between the trd or magnaflow.

FYI

I saw a TRD/Borla catback system for my '08 V6 that has dual pipes off the muffler from trdsparks.com that I'm considering.

ive got the borla with dual pipes off the muffler on my v8 & love it. i always liked the dual look even tho its not a true dual exhaust.

If you don't mind having exhaust fumes inside and alot of drone then go for it. Try to salvage the OEM exhaust in case you don't like it then you can go back. I did this mod on one of my trucks and hated it. But its all personal opinion.

better check your state law reguarding exhaust length. i know some states say it has to go past the pass/last door, some say past the rear axle. if i remember right, at some time (long time ago) here in n.j. there was a fight about it exiting to the side at all. hey mikestoy, did flowmaster just come out with that dual setup for the t4r? a year ago, all i could find/was told that only borla made one.

Adding a FM was the 2nd mod I did (1st was tint). I also cut out the rez and added a chrome slash cut tip.

I thought the V6s didnt have resonators.... I may be wrong though...
