Need help with rear coils please!

Hello guys, I really need help with choosing rear coils for my 3rd gen. I've done 3 rear suspension setups and have had no luck... I've also done a tone of research and still haven't found a solution, I'd really appreciate it if someone can help me out, so here is my issue:

I used to have Superflex rear coils from Toytec they performed very well but after I got a rear Shrockworks bumper and full armor they needed replacing. So I went with OME 861, they performed well but with some weight (camping gear and two 5 gallon jerry cans full) they bottomed out a lot! I then went with the 851's they performed better than the 861's and gave me about .75-1" inch of lift over 861's but after about 2 weeks they still started bottoming out with weight. I was advised to go with the 850/850j. I asked around, checked online and found out that 861,851,850,850j have the same spring rate (according to Cruiser Outfitters) I then called Toytec they said that I won't have a stiffer ride, instead I'll just gain an inch of lift (over 851) in the rear if I went with the 850/850j. I do a little bit of both crawling and some high speed desert runs, the 851 has a great amount of flex and performed flawlessly at high speeds when they were new, but after they broke in (2 weeks) they started bottoming out, I have extended bumpstops from Toytec, Toytec extended brake line, Toytec panhard drop bracket, adjustable panhard also from Toytec and extended travel Bilstein 5100's.

I don't want to gain any more lift in the rear, so I was wondering is there another company that makes springs for the front of the 80series cruiser (will also fit the rear of a 3rd gen) that has a higher spring rate but maintains the same amount of lift of an 851?

I really appreciate your help guys.
Thank you so much!

I would run the 891 if you have over 500 pounds of extra weight in the back if you have 200-300 then run the 890

Jesus.... is just scratching my head how you bottom out 861 when a lot of people use these with a lot of weight. You sure your shocks aren't blown out

I think 861s with coil airbags would work. Empty you said they where fine. So when loaded pump the air bags up. They should help them from bottoming out.

Side note this is another reason I'm keeping the rig light with minimal armor.

Yeah but what about, in case of zombie apocalypse? We need the armor lol

Minimal armor. Front rear and sliders. No skid plates and no tire carrier.

That's all I need to take them walkers out.

Real reason why? I'm on a wife budget build. Lol

It's probably better overall to not get carried away with adding all the armor. What do you do about a spare tire then?

Thanks for all the help guys!
What are the pros and cons of airbags?
Will I have to inflate and deflate them from time to time according to what I'm doing (from high speed to crawling)?
What are the best brands for airbags?

This is not sound advise. He's hitting his bumps on springs with the same rate- and TALLER- than the 861's! 890/891 would probably cause him to be riding on his bumps [emoji23]
I agree with airbags being your last step before having custom coils built at a higher rate than the 861/851/etc.
Maybe there is a higher rate coil already produced that would work for you, but not that I've heard of.

I tried doing research for higher rate springs but haven't had any luck, I might have to go with custom coils, I'll do some more research about that.

Thanks!
