Need Help with Rims

So I really want some 20"+ rims, but I just don't think they are practical for me. I've figured I can compromise and get some good looking 16" rims. This way I don't have to worry about my speedo and odometer being wrong, I don't have to buy new tires, and I can still take it offroad. I don't think I could afford 20" rims anyway with college coming up.

I have seen the TRD Ivan Stewart and they seem like a solid choice. At $120 a piece they would be hard to beat.

I also saw the TRD BBS RW. Those seem pretty cool aswell. I didn't see a price for those or even if they made a 16".

So I would like for ya'll to introduce me to some good looking rims. The only two limiting factors are that I don't want a rim that looks offroadish and it has to be around $130 per rim. (This is assuming $100 to mount and balance and $50 for shipping.)

I spent about $650 for 4 16" rims after installation, new lugnuts and balancing for my Motometal 951's. I ordered them from 4wheelparts.com for pickup, and got them installed at 4wheelparts.

Stock rims on my 4r were 16x8 these are 16x9 on stock tires.

The TRD (BBS RW) only come in 18"s. They really expensive though. I've seen them around used for about $1000-$1200 for a set. I think they're about $550 per new.

Price college books before spend $ on new rims! A Physics book costs $260 while others are well over 120 each - even paperbacked ones. Plus with state funding cuts tuition rates will jump 10-20% over next years. With bad economy and turn around not expected for at least 2 years (Obama says may take more than 8 now). Unless you have a full scholarship, I'd rethink un-needed purchases.

Have you thought of just having current ones powder coated to change look?

The TRD BBS rims only come in 18" .

Personally the ONLY 18" rim and biggest rim I would ever put on my truck I would. I love the way they look.

I saw a newer Tacoma with those on and a set of BFG AT ( white letter out ) and it looked damn sweet and tough . They are also only available in a 9" wide rim last I checked. Gave it a great stance . Not sure of offset and backspace if they would cause a problem on the 4R though.

I like 16" rims
Comfortable with 17's
BBS only for 18's

Those Moto Metals don't look bad. I'm not sure how the black would look on my Desert Dune. I saw they had a chrome though.

I learned that the Ivan Stewarts are close to $200 each. Bummer.

It's kind of hard for me to visualize the rims on my 4runner, so that picture helps.

wolfgang- I totally hear what you are saying and it is very true. I'm auctually taking some college classes right now to get ahead. I was quite shocked with the price of books. I think I paid close to $200 for my calculus one. Good thing my parents are paying for it. I don't think I could pay for college on my own. I think my parents are only making me pay for my spending money.

I've thought about powder coating, but I'm not sure of the price. I also don't know if I could do without my 4runner for a week.

The FJ Cruiser anthracite ones look pretty cool. I think they would look good with Desert Dune too.
