Haven't been on here in a while but im having trouble with my 4Runner and I need some help from the pros. The other day the truck died on me while driving down the road exhibiting signs of a dead battery. I got a new battery put in and it started right up and off I went. It worked fine for the rest of the day. The next morning the truck wouldn't start on its own or with a jump. It just makes the clicking sound. I had the alternator tested and its testing fine. The battery is putting out 12.5 Vdc and still nothing. Any ideas????

Clicking sound? Sounds (no pun intended) like you need a new starter... Around $70 if I recall correctly...
 
or maybe just starter contacts? does it click once or multiple times? if it clicks once per turn of key i'm guessing starter contacts.

Fast repeated clicks. Sounds just like a normal dead battery but wont take a jump and appears to have proper voltage.
