2007 Bad ECM?

P2103 "Throttle Actuator "A" Control Motor Circuit High" fault, started running like crap, stopped and cleared then it again plus then threw P0607 indicates a "Control Module Performance" and died.

Numerous key cycles got it to run again then die very quickly. I suspected a dead battery, AAA put jump pack on and nothing. I had it towed home and put a known good battery on, wouldn’t turn it over.

History, its been throwing an O2 code for a year or so, I threw a new sensor on tonight (no I didn’t thread it in, just plugged in) with new battery, still won’t turn over.

I have jumped starter relay and it will turn over, no start. I suspect bad ECM, have ran through multiple service manual tests but nothing sticks out.

2007 4.0

Any ideas?

Also want to note my cheap code reader as well as my Idatalink cannot communicate with ecm after it no longer turns over.

Before throwing loads of time and money at it, consider disconnecting the battery for at least an hour, check the terminals and clamps are corrosion-free. Anything like that can really confuse ECU models.

I don't know where they pick their earth/ground connection up from but again worth checking for a good connection there. Sounds like a waste of time but when you're only dealing with 12V, a drop of "only" 1V is around 10% so one (or more) weak connections can add up to a list of problems.

Is the alternator good?

My suspicions seem to be correct. Put a new (used) ecm in and it runs and drives. Fixing the cv boots the tow truck drive cut ? then getting it on the road.

Nice fix. I read somewhere that our ECM's are VIN locked and that the number of starts is limited to 10. What is your experience with your new (used) ECM? Did you have to get it programmed or was it plug and play??
