Need ideas! Took out overhead DVD! Now what?

When I bought the ride it had a DVD player in the headliner. My wife instantly said "I want that in mine!". Since I didn't really need it and I need to stay in her good graces, I complied. The stereo shop took it out and asked what I planned to do with the hole up top and said in the mean time he could trace the DVD player on to some abs plastic and cover the hole.

I'm thinking some trim, adding tweeters or another center channel and of course some led done lights that I will have to mount up there.

Any other ideas I could do? I'm open to all suggestions!

Pick up another player at Goodwill to cover that large hole? I've got one but haven't figured how to mount it instead of the dome light. Don't really need it though since I hardly ever have any rear seat passengers.

Yeah Id just pick up another player at some point....nothing too fancy. A big led dome light would just look weird cuz there should already be a light there. unless they took it out for the tv?

Maybe you could find a large ceiling compartment of some sorts from a different model vehicle. Go out onto the car lot and take some measurements...walk into the parts dept and order it. try and get close to the same interior color. Check the Tundras out, I think they have random large ceiling compartments

Is her vehicle a 4Runner? If so change headliners. Or simply buy a cheaper/newer unit and give her the better of the two.

Well I think I have my issue solved. I'm buying a pioneer avh-p8400bh next month and for $100 I can buy a cheap monitor (no DVD) and just hook the screen to the HU. Problem solved.

Funny couple. why don't you buy a new overhead dvd for your wife. Cause if you took out it from your car, the roof of your car just look strange. a overhead dvd maybe no more than $200.

I like the led idea and speaker idea, but an add on monitor is a good way to go as well
