Need leveling kit installed-Any takers in NOVA?

I was just wondering if anyone in here may live and/or work in Northern VA who can install my leveling kit from nitrous enterprises. It shouldnt be too diffcult, as the spacer goes between the coil and the rubber isolator on the end of the coil pack at the top. I was looking at taking it to 4x4 connections, but they want $71/hr and they said it may take 2-3 hours. That is a pretty hefty price. Anyone willing to install it for cheaper or know someone who would? Or, does anyone know of an installation shop to get it done cheaper?

By the way- High Tech in Chantilly said they dont usually install these types of things. I will give them a call again to make sure.

These guys may be able to do it. I think another member used them to install signal mirrors. Give them a call and see if they can hook it up for you.

That price seems reasonable to me. I kind of doubt you'll be able to get it done cheaper than that. Could be wrong though. And there's probably no harm in trying.

Personally, I would want the installers to have done similar work before. After a $100 install to some green kid who smashes your break line or doesn't put the pieces back together properly and you may be wishing you took the $220 install.

Don't pay someone else to do it, install it yourself. I was in the same situation as you, and installed it yourself. Ask someone that lives around you to help you.

Well then...my wife and I had a "difference of opinion" when it came down to the leveling kit. She said she didnt want anything like that on the truck if she is going to be taking over the truck in a couple of years(guess someone in her family had a bad experience with a lifted truck and was severly injured in a roll over). Well, there was no budging her. So, if I am to buy my sports car in a few years, the kit isnt going in. Hmmm...sports car (since she makes crazy money) or the leveling kit. Yeah----um----I will be the one in the club driving a stock suspended truck!

But you have to realize, that is a 1" lift you have, just to level out the front with the rear. The 4th gen. is around 2" lower stock than the previous gens so installing a 1" lift would be the same as LOWERING a previous gen. by 1"! The front is raked toward the ground, and leveling it by adding 1" to the front is NOT going to effect the center of gravity. That being said, if you're trying really hard, you can pretty much roll any vehicle!

p.s. you could always install the front spacers and then offer to take them out when she takes over the truck in a "few years"

Or just install them and see if she notices.

My wife and I had an arguement one time about me wanting to tint the windows on my Maxima. She said she hated cars with tinted windows. Well, I went ahead and did it. Two weeks later I asked her if she ahd noticed anything different about the car and she hadn't even noticed. I say just install them and don't say anything about it.

I decided to just forget about installing them. I sent them back to Nitrous Enterprises for a refund.

Oh well...I learned a long time ago it isnt even worth arguing about it.

By the way momo.75, 2 questions:
1) How could she not have noticed the tint!?
2) I noticed your exhaust turned out. Has that helped with the sulfur smell coming into your truck with the rear window down?

As I had told her, I wasn't getting it tinted all that dark and it was more of a smoke color than black. It was pretty funny when she relized it. When I got my 4Runner, I just went ahead and had it done without even bringing it up and it never has been an issue.

I never ride with my rear window down, so I can't say if it helped or not, as far as that is concerned. I mainly did it because I hated the look of the resonator at the end of the exhaust and the way the exhaust stuck straight out the back. If there is any sulfer smell, I don't even notice any more.
