Need more leg room 2001 SR5

I asked this same question a few months back and got no answers whatsoever, nobody had a clue. I'm convinced that you have to mod something up yourself or remove the rails and re-weld them further back. I'm thinking about putting a bunch of washers under the two front bolts, that might give you some extra room.
I love everything about the truck except for the leg room issue, I'm 6'2 and can't fully extend my legs, it really sucks on long trips.

Try to lean the seat back as far as you can....Makes me a little more comfortable to sit as far as I can into the seat. If someone can figure out a way to get another 2" or so of leg room, I would love to hear about it!! Pretty funny though, I came from a full size GMC Yukon and I feel like the 4runner has about the same leg room and actually more head rooom!!

Just get a seat cushion. It is the answer to all of lifes little problems

I agree there is plenty of room in the cab but I like to extend my legs all the way. My Lexus allows me to put the seat all the way back and its very comfortable. I would like to be able to move the seat back just a few more clicks and it would be perfect.
Using a seat cushion will only make your head closer to the roof, thats not much of an improvement.
I don't know how really tall people drive, what about NBA players, they have to get some custom work done just to be able to drive?

Pretty sure Cadillac and Mercedes know that NBA players drive there cars exclusively and give enough room for them to drive and stuff 22's in the wheel wells.

Very few cars do fit them, hence why lots of them drive big truck based SUV's. If you look at the ballers driving Merc AMG's/Audi/Lexus etc they have extended seat rails installed and are usually sitting so far back their head is next to, or behind the "B" pillar. It looks pretty hilarious actually and I can only imagine how it interferes with their view.
I'm 6'0 and only keep the seat back about 80% as far as it can go, I'm surprised you can reach the steering wheel with a proper grip leaned back all the way. I know I used to do that in my Civic and Mustang, but it wasn't the safest driving position.

Cadillac maybe, but Mercedes is alot bigger in Europe and other countries, so I doubt they build NBA players into their design. They may come up with factory mods available, but Merc's in Europe are alot more mainstream than they are here.
You guys might want to be wary of the seat belt angle you create by moving the seat back. I don't recall off hand where the mounts are relative to the seat, but you don't want to move too far back or the belt won't really be restraining you, or it will be at a very shallow angle, which will increase stress on the belt and mounts.

the weirdest thing is that Brian2sun and I have the same year 4runner with the same hideous corduroy seats and his drivers seat goes about and inch or two inches farther back than mine. I drove his and actually had the seat up a little, which is strange considering I am 6'2"

Yeah, and then I got those new seats out of a '97 (without the hideous corduroy) and they have the shorter seat rails like yours Jason. I would slide my old seats about 3 clicks up, but my new seats I have to put all the way back to be comfortable. Luckily I'm only 6' so the shorter ones still work ok for me.
BTW, did you ever try to swap the seat rails? (I gave Jason my old seat with the longer rails).
My biggest thing is head room. I'm 6'4" and unless I lean the sit back a good amount and lean to the left or right my head brushes where the sunroof slides back into. I have an '01 Limited with electronic seat adjuster, but there's no up and down adjustment! Do any other years/models sit lower or have the option of going lower?

it does im 6' 2" and im pretty close to the sunroof, i have thought about trying to make different seat mounts to drop the seat an inch or two

That sucks! I'm 6' 5'' and I want to find a 4r with a sunroof cuz im always jealous of people with them, but maybe I won't if i can't fit in it lol
I love having the sunroof open with all the windows down (including the back one) but wish I could have just a little more room. Let me know if you think of anything because i would love to try it. Maybe the sequoia or tundra have a six-way adjustable seat that moves down that we could swap from a junkyard? Just a thought
