need new coils?

im going to install the daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer kit on my limited 04 4x4.

right now i feel like my front suspension is really saggy. there is only like an inch between by wheel and the body. i was wondering if there are a set of coils i could install when i put the spacers on.

FJ coils are a cheap option if you dont mind an extra .5-.75" of lift. I have the FJ suspension on my 4th gen with the 2.5/1.5 kit and love it. The ride is a little more firm but feels much better to stock.

okay i wasnt sure how much the fj coils gave of lift. i see most people using the FJC coils and just a 1/2" spacer. so i was worried about using a 2.5" spacer as well as the FJC coils.

I went that route the first time around, then added the daystar later. Here are some quick pics from my phone showing the difference.

Here is the FJ suspension and toytec 1" spacer. The cargo area normally sits a tad higher, but its loaded down with camping gear.

looks nice! im definitely going to get a pair of the FJC coils now. i only need the front coils correct? there is a guy on FJC forums selling all 4 for $75

Make sure they are from a 4X4 or TT FJC. Get all 4 since they are a little stiffer and you would want to match the ride (front and back).

You will deffinately like the way it handles.

And to improve the look/stance you should think about getting wheel spacers too. You won't regret it!

Id get all 4. It will lift the rear a bit as well, and prevent you from being nose high. The ride will be better this way as well.

Not positive, but I remember reading on here that they are a little taller/ stiffer. I think this is why people report having different relults in lift obtained as well.

The 4x4 springs are the ones you want, they are a bit taller/stiffer. Any sub-model of the FJC 4x4 springs are good. The only thing that varies with the different FJC 4x4's is the shocks, they all use the same spring.
