Can anyone recommend me new hatch support ? Mine are shot. When it’s cold, they barley support the trunk lol.

I got these:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W8QBA30/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just made a dump run with the gate open and a sofa sticking out the back. The gate stayed up all the way and didn't bounce at all. I had swapped in Monroes previously and it never would go all the way up unless you pushed it. These are the real deal, only complaint is you have to work a bit to close it.

These are the extra-charged StrongArm lifts. $44 w/free shipping on Amazon--cheaper than direct from LiftSupportsdepot.com.

Aren’t these the same as the ones the other people posted ?

Damn Bezos. He wins again, lol.

Actually, the link you posted and the link 4Runner4Leon posted are different manufacturer part no's.

Both the regular (4286, posted by 4Runner4Leon) and the extra charged (6815, posted by gamefreakgc) were mentioned above. I linked the 6815s, the extra charged. I thought THAT was clear.

Curious how much more difficult they are to close? The 4286's are hard enough it seems, I'd be afraid to have to hang on them any harder. Maybe it's time for a power liftgate mod! :)

Well, I need both arms to get it started or I really have to strain. The old droopy ones I could just pull it down with even my left by itself. I can't compare to the 4286s but the 6815s are probably overkill if there is no extra weight. They are working nice in this 10°F weather right now, though.

Thanks, that's good info!

How are the 4286 in cold weather? One Amazon review says pretty crappy, so i figured id ask you.

Btw, theDurk and all the amazon reviews of the supercharged one's say they are significantly harder to close, i guess that could be a good thing depending on the owner.

Well I'm officially cranky... The 1 month old StrongArm 4286's are doing EXACTLY the same thing as my old ones did - open quickly to about 80%, then stall out. WTF?? The only reason I replaced the old ones was to gain the last 20%, which the StrongArms did... for about a month. Whoopeee.

So I'd avoid them, but not sure what to get instead :(.
