Need new hatch supports

I guess so. A little concerned about the extra effort to close them, but maybe that's the best option. I'm 6'3", so I need the liftgate to open fully :).

I need some new ones and have the same damn concern. Not sure we have a choice at this point.

you gonna trash your old ones once you buy the new? I can probably take your old, mine are years and years old, in the cold weather it barely stays up.

Well I threw out my old ones (that came with the truck when I bought it). Fortunately Amazon is taking back the 4286's, so I'll try the 6815's.

I've had the 6815's for over a year now, still going "strong". It was -10F (temp not wind chill) in Wisconsin a couple mornings ago and those damn extra strength strong arms still flung my lift gate open!

They are a little hard to push down if you're a wuss.....:jk::jk:

Well now I can't ever admit if I have trouble closing the liftgate with the 6815's :)

Since y'all keep mentioning the cold weather and mine are performing similarly,
will they work normally once it gets warm again?

So installed these. Seem to be very nice. To open the hatch FULLY/MAX you still need to slightly push up. Otherwise these did not sag for me in the ARCTIC weather that NJ has been having. Than again, they are new.

One thing I don’t like. Is I wish these came with new bushings. My old bushings are GONE. I installed them without any bushings. So they mounts have a lot of play side to side.
