Need new shocks

I have an 89 4runner and I need new shocks, front and back, only problem is that it has an 8 inch lift on it. So im looking for something that would still be good but wont make me go broke

You need to find out what kind of lift. Im guessing its a 3" body and a 4-5" drop bracket.

Do you want the lift that high? Maybe consider ditching some of that lift first. Where in Colorado are you? If you need help looking at it, let me know.

Update: so the guy i bought i from says he thinks its a 4"

So then you need shocks for a 4" suspension lift. Any quality parts store should be able to get you some Ranchos or Skyjacker shocks for a 4" lift. If your really not sure, take one of the fronts and one of the rear (they are different) shocks into the store with you.

To measure, take one of each shock off and measure it fully open and fully compressed.

I think that's higher than four inches, but it's hard to tell. You need to measure the distance between the shock mounts at rest, fully extended/drooped, and fully compressed (bumpstops squished). I wouldn't just measure the current shocks, because who knows if they're correct?

So I checked it out, im pretty sure that it has a 4" transmission lift along with a 2" body lift, but i also noticed it looks like the frame is actually denting the shocks when it fully compresses, any ideas?
