I too have Geolander H/T-S tires, and they are indeed civilized and long-wearing. H/T appears to stand for "Highway Terrain" or "Highway Technology," and that's what they're best at.
Need new tires soon. 99% of driving is highway...

Obviously you're going to get a lot of opinions.
The Cooper Discovery HT are great tires for on-road/highway driving. Great in wet and dry weather...and not too bad in snow as long as you're in 4wd.
Be careful of those specials you see. Check their prices....ESPECIALLY from places like NTB.
I've seen those sales..and after I did the math...their prices were NOT that good. And not to mention their BOGUS parts you all of a sudden need when you go to have your tires rotated. That's the main reason I stopped going to places like them.

I go with Michelin every time. I do mostly highway as well. 146,000 on my 2005 4runner and on my 3rd set of tires. Michelin has always performed well for me and never had an issue with any of them. Just replaced them when it is time. NTB seems to always have the best deal.
Do you have any LOCAL tire places around. I found NTB tire prices to be average at best. I have two local tire places near me that I can get the exact tire from NTB for less...usually a LOT less.
The other thing about NTB is their business model. If you check on-line you'll see that they've been sued in several states for their practices. Mainly selling unneeded services and them finding bogus problems. Last time I dealt with them they told me I needed new ball joints - They were fine. In fact they were still fine when I sold my truck some 200k miles later. The guys on the floor work on commission. They get a bonus for every part they sell. In some cases it works out to be over 50% of their annual pay. That business model just lends itself to abuses.
Michelin LTX. Father in law loves the quiet ride and confident handling in all sorts of weather in his full size pickup.
Expensive, but long lasting and quiet.
As for NTB, I felt the pressure to buy buy buy when I went in there to price tires. Will not be heading back. I eventually told the guy to back it down, and left.

I have the Firestone a/t's and I like them. Good hwy and wet weather. Not sure about snow yet but I'll be finding that out shortly. Plus this is one of the few a/t tires I found with a 50k warranty.
We just put on Michelin Latitudes as our "city" tires. We have put Michelin LTX MS 2 on two trucks and they are fabulous for heavy towing and heavy load use. My only complaint is that the tire will sometimes outlast the car 
. The Latitudes were cheaper by about $200 and since they will only be on pavement I went with them.
