Need New Tires....Suggestions? **Pics**

My tires are getting pretty bald. I am trying to get a set for around 600 bucks. Which of these would you suggest. Any experiences? (under 160 only).

PS I have searched, and found that nearly everyone here gets BFG AT, but I don't have 800 to spend.

If your truck is a DD but will see some solid trail duty then Nittos might fit your price range. I've got 20k miles on mine over the last two years and i love 'em.

The Good year ATS tires you mentioned are a real good tire. I have run the Uniroyal Larado AWT tires on a jeep and found they were not bad for a low cost tire.

You may want to look at the General Grabber AT/2 tires from the tire rack.

Im sort of a king of cheep no name brand tires I just think many of them work quite well and you can save big $$$ if you look around.

Take a look at the following brands

Mastercraft tires, Dean tires, Delta tires, Hurculies tires, Sport king tires To name a few

Im running Mastercraft Courser AT/2 tires right now and so far I think they are great.

I have been looking at the Yokohama Geolander AT/S (Not the ATS++)
They are like $115 on tirerack.com and the reviews I have read and people I have talked to say they are an excellent value and handle mud pretty decent for an all-terrain!!

You can't go wrong with a dean tire I know someone who sells them and he recommends them all the time they are made by cooper tire.

If you drive often in the snow you may want to try the Mastercraft Courser C/T in 265/70/17 sort of a cross between a mud and A/T tire. (also made by Cooper tire)

By the way the nice thing about that Dean Wildcat tire you are thinking about is the tread depth in 265/70/17 is 18.5 32nds. that is a real deep tread (real nice!)

There are a lot of nice tires out there , BUT you know what I find funny , is that our local Fleet & Farm has always sold a brand called "WIDETRACK" tires for cars and truck and they are cheap priced , have a 50k wear on them.

There a lot of trucks around here with them , my 2 nephews included on their Chevy 4x4 and everyone swears buy them. The contractors around here run them too.

Sometime you've got to wonder about high priced tires , brand names and what you pay for.

Although I'm kind of a name brand guilty myself , BUT then again I drive a Toyota 4R which deserves the best :}

I"ve always run BFG AT on all my trucks. I swapped out tires on day 1 with the 4R to the 265/70/17 size but went with Revos because of all the raves on this board................needless to say will be back at my buddy's BFG store this fall.
