Need new tires...

I'm looking for some new tires for my wifes 06 T4R Limited 4x4. I'm am going to stay with the current size 265.60.r18. I want a tire that rides good and is quiet and that won't break my bank. Do any of you guys have any ideas on what i should try? Some pics with be great. Also this is strictly an on-road vechicle it never goes offroad.

I had Bridgestone Dueller H/Ts

They came on the truck. Same size wheel as yours.

Pro's very quiet on the highway, very nice ride, very responsive for 'spirited' driving

Con's price, I think I was quoted about $180 a peice for them and they were not much good off road, snow, dirt, rocks

I ended up putting a set of Bridgeston Dueller A/Ts on it, very similar tire, slightly more noise, slightly less response to spirited driving, but about $140 a tire. Kind of OK off road on dirt and in snow

and now I have an extra set of rims with BFG M/Ts for off road, so I am very happy all round.

I just went through the same thing you are going through. After reading many reviews and talking to friends I decided to get Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's for my 2003 Toyota 4runner Sport V8. Tire size was P265/65/R17. I just got home with them so I don't have many miles on them yet. I would highly recommend getting an alignment along with the tires to extend the life of them. I got the blackwalls and as far as looks go...AWESOME! I noticed the ride was not quite as smooth as with the factory Dunlop A/T Grand Trek's but after the tires are worn in some this may get better. I knew the tires would be a lot different though considering they are a more rugged tire than the factory junk that only last about 25,000 miles. I hope to get some pictures up of the tires later. I got the tires for about $150 a piece from a local Firestone dealer. They are much more expensive at Tirerack.com so shop around. Again...I researched many of the other tires and the only other tire I would consider would be the Firestone Destination A/T. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the comments. Is there any other brand besides bridgestone that would give the ride and noise comfort of the factory tires? The vechicle does not go off road and i live in the south so i don't have to worry about snow or anything like that.

Sounds like you want a highway/all season tire instead of all terrain. You might want to check out the Michelin tires if price doesn't matter. That or the Yokohoma Geolander. I have heard they are a decent tire. I almost got the Pirelli Scorpions but decided against them because there were a lot of reports of the tires having a "flat" spot when they sit too long. They said it would eventually go back to normal after about 5 miles of driving but in the long run it really wore on the tire. So I didn't even want to mess with that. There is a lot of information at tirerack.com about the highway/all season tires. I would check that out.
