Need opinion on '93 for sale

Hi guys,

Some friends of mine are interested in buying a '93 Hilux 3.0 Diesel imported from Japan.
The asked me on an opinion. I have a 3rd Gen 4runner, so know what to look at, but would be great to get some advice from 2nd owners.

The asking price is $4500 (negotiable) . I think pretty high.

Engine Size: 3.0L diesel
Model: 1993 Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-G wide body
In Mongolia: Imported from Japan in 2002-2003.
(Driving in Mongolia is mainly (80%) offroad, which should be accounted for.)
Miles: around 100 KM's, which is around 60/m miles. (which is very low......)

Timing belt changed at 60/m and oil change / air filter etc.

The front lower ball joints need to be replaced.

The vehicle was in an accident this past winter and ended up on its top, but we had the engine checked out and okayed, then had the body work done at a Vietnamese place and all turned out well; was able to get the sun roof replaced and all.

Right hand drive (sucks, while in Mongolia we drive on the right side of the road)

This is after the crash, so it's how it looks now. half of the car was "repainted" after the crash, think i should mention that the sides of the windshield (the metal) didn't bend or break from the crash, and the vietnam place also put extra metal in it to strengthen it.

Wow, that's going to be a tough one to answer.
90%+ of the people here are in the U.S., so putting a value on a vehicle in another country will be difficult.
Prices for the same vehicle here in the U.S. vary several thousand dollars from one state to another.
Plus, we don't have the diesel engine here, so that makes it more difficult.

If you think the price is high, it probably is, so if you like it make an offer lower and try to meet in the middle.

I was looking at one of those 12 months ago, same year/engine/kms but minus all the damage you mentioned. I never found one lower than 10,000 CAD after taxes and all that. I still see them on some online car sale sites for at least 8,000.

So I would say its a good price 8)
