Have the opportunity to buy two good priced 4runners. Both are sport editions
1. 2003 Silver Sport 95,xxx two accidents one with bags deployed. Everything checks out after the inspection. No leaks and two owner

2. 2004 Black Sport 96,xxx no accidents. but from the pictures it looks like it has a decent amount of rust. Almost everything that can rust looks rusted in the pics. No leaks and 1 owner

Both vehicles are out of state and are priced nicely. What would you do?
I need to make a move as soon as possible. Needing a car like yesterday :bowl:

Rust one don't go near, but the accident one, does it have a totaled title? I would possibly get that one, but would offer way low unless you plan to spend the time crawling around it completely making sure nothing is 'out' of whack.

I've purchased Total vehicles before and have been okay on some, but bitten by others...

Damn I need to sell my 4Runner! I just looked on Craigslist, these 4Runners hold their value, I knew but I didn't know that well.

I'm torn between neither 4Runner and maybe the Titanium Metallic (not silver). Two accidents, do you where the hits were? I'd stay away from a front end or some kind of wheel hit. 4WD could be a problem (I assume 4WD). Are there any Toyota dealerships near '03 4Runner? I'd say take it into the dealership and have them shake down the car. I think it may cost you $200 but could be a good $200 to spend.

The rusty black one may have undocumented accident(s) or else it was stored in a heated garage in the winter with road salt. If you see rust there is way more you don't see including the entire undercarriage.

I would pass. I bought an 04 sport that was wrecked.... 128k miles on it for $4500. needed a hood, fender and bumper. Now it is getting icon stage 2 kit, ARB bumper, and of course hood and fender and will be cheaper than both of those options.

Depending on the wrecks would assist in the decision. Air bags gone off?? I would run

Last year i bought an 03 limited v8 with 123k for $7,700. needed two tires and had a paint blemish on the front bumper, no accidents or rust, one owner.

I would keep looking as it might cost you even more in the long run. perhaps rent a car for a couple of weeks until you find a better option?

Yes 4wd. And I completely agree, I can do better. That accident can cause issues in the long run and mess with the 4WD

The black runner was sold just today leaving the one with the accidents still available
That should tell you something. I would pass and wait for something better.

Remember, good deals don't last, especially 4Runners. Have your money in hand and check the ads two or three times a day and get ready to drop everything to jump on it.

"Needing a car yesterday" is asking for a problem. It's just a car. I wouldn't go for the one that was wrecked. If you did a carfax on it, those reports are not all inclusive. They are better than nothing, but not a sure thing. Rent a car, or maybe see if someone will let you borrow one (or you could arrange a "rental" from a friend)

I guess some people don't know when a possible settle hint was thrown at them...

"shit for almost 11k.... id be willing to...."
