Need Pro buying opinions

Seems 4X4 V8 are very hard too come buy in my area so I have 2 deals made to me from one of five dealers I have visited.

1 Dealer says they can get me a new 2006 SR5 V8 4X4 loaded minus GPS, Compass mirror for 33,000.

2 Dealer has a loaded 2005 Limited V8 4X4 with 115 miles in the showroom no GPS for 35,000.

I negotiated back and forth on both deals and came too these prices.

Question are these prices whithin reason?

I feel first deal is 1500 too high.

I think the first deal is too high as well. It would be great if you could get it down to 30000 - 31500. What is the invoice proice of each vehicle? Are the quotes close to invoice price? Check edmunds.com for reference.

The second deal seems about right for a Limited. However, since it does have 100+ miles on it already, you could probably bargain it down to $34000-$34500.

I would first look up Edmunds.com or Carsdirect.com. KBB.com is helpful too. Look at the invoice price. See how much most people are paying for it. Then bargain.

It's odd that in the New York area there are no SR5 V8 4x4's. This issue just came up in another thread.
Going rate is pretty close to invoice, but there's a supply-and-demand factor, too. If that SR5 V8 4x4 is the only one for miles, you're going to pay more for it.
You should do the same sort of research on the '05 to see how good that price is. I'm assuming it's technically "new" with only 115 miles, but it's really a year old, and that should knock the price down quite a bit. You could also see if Toyota has any sort of rebate on a new '05 still sitting on the lot.

Contacting different regions is definitely an option. I live in Southern California and I ended up getting my 06 4Runner SE from Las Vegas since that region had side & curtain airbags for the SE whereas southern california did not. Look up different states toyota dealerships via internet. You could also punch in different zipcodes on the toyota website to find the dealerships in that region.

I'd go to the Toyota web site to "build" your 4Runner by punching in different zip codes that represent other regions. Then when you find what you want it will probably give you a list of dealers in that geographical area. From there you can
