Need some 4x4 topics to write about

I work for an online marketing company, and one of our clients is a 4x4 parts and service specialist. I'm in charge of writing 8 blogs a month relating to the auto service industry as well as anything relating to the 4x4 offroad market. It can be anything from talking about offroad trails to tips on how to look for the best aftermarket headlamps.

I'm currently trying to develop a list of interesting topics for all things 4x4 related. Does anyone have any suggestions? What topics would you like to see on a 4x4 blog that aren't extremely specific?

Everyone likes to show awesome pictures of people wheeling their trucks. But stuff goes wrong.

Articles on winching/recovery and tire patching/jacks/repair in the middle of nowhere are very helpful since not everyone realizes that when they set off down a trail they'll have to do vehicle maintenance.

Agree. There are days when nothing can go wrong, then there are days when something can go terribly wrong.

Proper winching, recovery, TRAIL MAINT., STAYING ON DESIGNATED TRAILS, vehicle maint., are all great topics that should be covered.

depending on your location, it wouldn't hurt to get out and snap some pics, "get some time behind the wheel" so to speak.

I know if you were in the NC area, I'd be more than happy to take you out with me and let you snap pics and do write ups on wheeling every time I went out.

Guidelines for when to use LO or HI range, when to air down, equipment to carry for the various levels of adventure, factory and aftermarket mechanical equipment that enables going further (traction aiding devices such as lockers and LSD's, central locking, lower T-case gearing, etc.). Maybe show places that can only be reached with a 4x4, and the views you get from those places--that's always been my draw, being able to explore places my car can't get to, and see sights I'd never see otherwise (I'm no long-distance backpacker--LOL).

Can't go wrong with Tread Lightly. Any article about keeping trails clean and saving our trails is definitely worth reading.

2 Tires, choices for different terrain, IE , rocks, pavement, mud, trail all terrain etc.
3 transfer case
4 shocks.
5 communication, cb, 2 way, gps, sat phone.

Do an article on how rigs are built for their region and a breakdown of why.. My truck is built for Colorado wheeling, and I'm pretty certain Florida wheeling would destroy it! Where as a guy with a truck built for Florida would find the same fate here.. Stay on top of the newest regional trends.. Wether they be show or go.
Maybe touch on how the industry supplies demand. From vehicle manufaturers to the aftermarket and custom suppliers.
And from a 4runner guys mind... "Pathfinder now a mini-van?" I think that article speaks for itself! Not to mention they stick it in a commercial and try to sell it as a snow covered mountain dominator!!! That could start your "rant blog"!

Thanks for the tips guys! I have pretty decent knowledge on the 4x4 industry, but I'm definitely no expert, so if anyone has any articles they'd recommend on the topics you brought up I can reference to that would be awesome!

I wouldn't mind seeing an article on maipulating tire pressures and how different rated tired require various pressures. (A member pointed out a while back that LT tires need more pressure than P tires to get the same effective load carrying ability, which I was unaware of.) also how width of tire and height of sidewall affect traction.

Maybe some stuff on how best to pick approach, departure angles on various obstacles, trail maintenence, winching/recovery, comms, in-field repairs, ect.
