Need some advice please.

I am selling my Jeep Wrangler to upgrade to a bigger SUV I can put my boys in. But I have a few question to see if a 4Runner will work for me.

What is the biggest tire/wheel can I put on a stock axle with out damage?

If I do upgrade the tire size will the 4cly still pull me down the road.

I like the look of the 1st gern 4runner better but the chances of finding one in good shape might be slim. So the 2nd gern might be my best bet.

If you look around you can find a nice 1st gen for a reasonable price.The 2nd gens with 4 doors are more convienant when you have kids but taking the top off and rugged looks of the 1st gen is hard to beat.31's will fit stockon 1st and 2nd gens.The 4cyl is easier to work on and provides plenty of power and fuel economy is a lot better.The v6 has more torque and are dependable except for the occasional headgasket.

i love my 2nd gen 4door v6 great for the family me my wife plus 3 works out well mine has a 6 inch lift on it and sitting on 33s rides nice fuel milage is so so other than that gotta love the runner !:dancin:

I want to go with 33" but I would love to go with 35" in the long run. I know with both I will have to do a lift to make them fit.

And the more I think about it I do want 6 doors so looks like I need a 2nd gen
