Hi there! New guy here to the forum :guitar2: Was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on buying a used 4Runner. Hopefully this is the appropriate thread to ask for advice, but here goes:
I'm new to the 4Runner scene. Never owned one before, but have driven them so much and have fallen in love with them from day one. I used to drive a 2004 Ford Focus, but that POC threw a rod at 157K and my dad was wise enough to use a "craigslist mechanic" who really messed up the repair. Long story short, I need another car and would LOVE to finally step up into a 4Runner. I happened to find one down in Sacramento (I live in Oregon) with the following info:
-'02, clean title
-115K mileage
-Looks in immaculate condition
-Fully loaded (moonroof, power everything, etc.)
-$6,000
I do know that 6 grand for this car is such a steal, it's fairly suspicious. But I've talked with the guy and asked him some questions so it checks out. The plan would be to fly down, inspect it, and drive it home to Portland if everything looks good.
I want to know if you guys think this is a good deal? Are there any really important questions I need to ask? What should I really be paying attention to on inspection?

No offense to the other members on here, but I'm not sure why anyone would bother to buy a 4Runner without 4WD? So I'm unfortunately gonna have to settle with a '99 Camry for the time being, until I find the rare low mileage 3rd gen bargain I've been waiting for my whole life.
