Need some input quick-bull bar

I've been back and forth on what I want to do with my 4runner, many of you guys know that. I've found a seemingly good deal on a Westin bull bar ($240 shipped). The only downside is that it is only valid through tonight, so I need to make a decision quick. Is the Westin worth it? Would you guys jump on the deal? It will be the black with the stainless skid, so would you guys do this for a black limited 4runner? And finally, does anyone have experience with Auto Parts & Auto Accessories - Over 6 Million Auto Parts, Aftermarket Parts, Truck Accessories & Car Accessories Thanks a lot for any and all input!

I was in the same boat as you for a few months. ..back and forth Liking the Westin ...but not wanting to pay that much for it just because of the name. So I went with Steelcraft... like I posted on another thread...$174 shipped all black! the original price is $210 but I got a discount code from the internet the stainless steel is a little more $. It has a removable skidplate which means you have the choice of 2 styles for the price of one!..I wouldnt pay that much having other brands as good or even better than westin bullbar. But it all depends on what u want..if is for some protection..if its because u like they way the Westin looks and because of the popular brand name "Westin"...or if you just want to mount some aux lights..it all depends.

It's mainly for looks. I don't know that I want stainless, but also don't think I want black. I like the Westin because it is black but has the stainless skid, I love the look. I contacted the seller you linked to and they will give me the same black with stainless skid but it was like $190 and would take an extra couple of weeks. I saw the steelcraft on autoanything, but it's only availalbe in stainless and is almost the same price as the Westin. I'm not doing lights now, but may in the future. Thanks!

If thats the one you like the most..then go ahead a get it. It looks nice!...I like it too..but I think the one I got gives more protection it is a little bit bigger and looks more agressive plus it matches better te look of my 4r....But the black Westin with the chrome skid looks cool...and if it for the looks...go with what you like!...

I'm happy with my Westin. $240 is a respectable deal for what you usually see them for. Mine feels fairly solid and would offer some protection, but not much.

I bought my Westin in the stainless version, used, and had it powder-coated textured black for about $50.

I can get an identical Hunter bar for $190. Would the Westin be worth the extra? I'm thinking there may be a better fitment on the Westin. As far as the Steelcraft, I'd consider it if I could find a black one decently priced.

Here is another option I found when I was looking for my bullbar. Similar to the Westin but I think it does not come with the tabs for mounting aux lights. Thats why I didnt buy this one. But if you are not interested in aux lights this might work for you. Way less money than Westin also.

Hmm, I like that one. Total comes out to $177, which isn't bad at all. My biggest question with them all: will the fit be the same? If the Westin will fit better/more snug to the body, it is worth the extra money to me. I apprecaite the input, and I'm looking to make a decision before tonight. Thanks!

Well, although the site shows it in stock, after talking to someone they are backordered until late February. Looks like I'm in no hurry now. Any more input on the different bars would be appreciated, as I'm still looking to make a purchase soon. Thanks!

Got my Westin for $254 shipped from Truckchamp.com. So you're getting a good price as far I know.

I like it with the black and stainless skid plate. And either way you go (black or all stainless), I think the fog / driving lights will really dress it up. See my avatar.

Thanks for the kind words. Be sure and post some pics when you get your bull bar on. Also, if you decide to add the lights, I highly recommend using the OEM Aux light from the FJ Cruiser or Tacoma fog light switch. The information on the forum on how to wire and install made my project much easier. And the OEM switch in the center console make is really sweet.

When I first started looking for bull bars, Westin was at the top of my list. But I really did not want the attached skid plate.

I was lucky to find a used Hunter stainless steel bull bar being sold by a fellow T4R.org member. No skid plate, and has tabs if I wish to add lights at a later date.

I like the look of the bull bar as it "toughens up" the front end.

I'm really torn. Some pics make the bull bar look amazing, some not so much. I saw a new model Tacoma today with the Westin bull bar and man did it look great! That really got me started. I'm really tempted to leave the front alone and start with other stuff (lift, tint, and idk what else). I really like the factory front, but I am sure I'd love the look with the bull bar as well. Decisions, decsions! I'm almost opposite, I really want the attached skid, I like the look even though it really has no functionality.
