I'm not in NC, but I got a 99 v6 Sr5 4x4 with:
(You can email Toyota with the VIN and they'll give you the original equipment print out)
* Upgrade Value Package #3 including: Power windows, sunvisor with passenger side illumination, keyless entry, cfc free air conditioning, rear cargo cover, sport seat with 4-way adjustable headrests, leather steering wheel, AM/FM ETR/cassette with 6 speakers, power diversity antenna, floor mats, 15x7 alloy wheels
* 48 state emissions requirement
* Power tilt and slide moonroof
112k miles, like new except will need tires in 8-10k miles, 1 owner non-smoker in desert dune (?) for $10k private sale. I immediately put $1,000 into it with timing belt, water pump, all belts, rear brake adj, trans service, thermostat, crankshaft lube, cooling flush, minor tuneup.
Those are things I would have done to any used Toyota right off the bat to know where I stand and have the vehicle in known good condition.
The guy was asking 3,000 more initially.
www.edmonds.com has good pricing for buyers.
www.nada.com is better for sellers. Dealers will quote you nada, but don't believe them. Go to edmonds which has more options to choose. Kelly blue books site
http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/ke.kb.sp?kbb&&&usedCars;slp is somewhere in between. All 3 sites will help you not overpay for your vehicle, and still be able to make a fair offer on a clean vehicle.
The last day of the month (or the first day) are the best times to get rock bottom prices at dealers, if you are a serious buyer and not kicking tires. Vehicles you find on Wed, may be gone by Sat, (happened to me) because some dealers aren't open on Sunday, and most people work M-F. Surf local car dealers websites and look for internet specials also.
That's about all I can offer. Hope it helps
