Need Some OME Clarification

I know OME lifts are an old topic and i have done my research but my question is can i just buy THIS KIT to level my 4runner, and maybe lift it a little :naughty:. Or do i have to buy the torsion bar, front shocks, rear shocks, rear springs, and the steering damper seen HERE.

First off thank you

and second off what is all the other stuff for, is it just a more serious lift or are those parts that will last longer or something like that?
 
The 1st kit has springs that raise the rear 2" over the original height and ball joint spacers for the front. You have to adjust the t-bars to obtain more lift.

The 2nd has new t-bars for the front, as well as shocks.

The OME suspension improves ride and handling better than original stock, and lifts about 2" over original stock height.
 
So, are you looking to lift the front and the rear or just trying to get rid of the rear sag? I put the moog springs on back of mine and WOW, that lifted it back up where it should be and put the ride height at an equal measurement at all four corners.
 
I am looking to level out all four corners and get some lift at the same time.

So Fourwd1 will i need the 2nd kit to raise the front or can i adjust my stock t-bars to make the front equal to the new back springs?

Basically, will the 1st kit make all the corners equal and give me lift or will i need the 2nd kit to raise the front?

you can lift the front with the t bars but you lose suspension function.

Torsion Bar Adjusting and the Affects Thereof

To summarize the difference from the vehicle driver perspective between 1.5" of ball joint spacer lift and 1.5" of torsion bar adjustment lift one could say that ball joint spacers make for a smoother on road ride with more off-road suspension flex and corresponding capability.

To understand why this is, it is first helpful to understand why it is the vehicle ride becomes harsher the higher one lifts the vehicle via torsion adjusting. The first reason relates to down travel and is very straight forward while the second, relating to the effective radius, is less so.

Down travel: You need it

Quite simply, when one of your wheels encounters a depression in the road such as a pothole, one of two, or a combination of these two things are going to happen. The truck’s wheel will enter the hole while the chassis remains relatively settled. Or, the truck will fall into the hole which will unsettle and jar the chassis (and occupants). For the wheel to travel downwards there must be sufficient down travel to do so. When you adjust your torsion bars for lift, you sacrifice down travel for up-travel. You can absorb a larger bump but if you encounter a pothole type of depression, the vehicle falls into the hole with the front wheel often impacting the upside on its way through. This is very hard on the vehicle and occupants. The results are a poor on road ride.
 
OK that helps a lot. Its always better to understand WHY something happens rather than just knowing it happens.

So the torsion bar that comes with the second kit isn't really needed, it's more for replacing an old one?

And also would i need the front springs that come in the 2nd kit or are those also just for replacing old ones?

EDIT: OK just saw another thread that basically says the new t-bar is not needed but highly recommended.
Still not sure about the front springs.

EDIT EDIT: Nevermind i feel extremely stupid, i don't have front springs :roadkill:
