Need some quick input-Left vs. Right Springs?

I just finished installing FJ Cruiser springs and a Toytec 1/2" spacer on the front of my 4runner.. I've drove 10-12 miles and have noticed an issue. I took before measurements, and there was approx 1/8" difference in height between the driver/passenger side. After the lift, now there is just over a 1/2" difference. Is there a "left" and "right" spring, or are both the same? I'm thinking maybe one is longer (just slightly) to compensate for the gas tank and battery. I looked at my stock 4runner springs, and this definitely seems to be the case (not labeled, but one is ~1/4" taller). Can anyone verify that there is a difference before I pull it apart and swap sides with the springs? Thanks!

I'm not so sure he's joking. Here is my reasoning:
1. Another person has told me that he thinks there is a left and right.
2. On the stock springs, one is slightly taller than the other
3. There are two different part numbers for the FJ springs (a left and a right)
4. It fully explains my issue. I should have gotten ~1.5 inches of lift. Right now I'm at ~1.25 on the drivers side and 1.75 on the passenger side. If the springs makes a 1/4" difference, that would even the sides out perfectly (and they were even when I measure at stock height).

No I'm not kidding! The Toyota springs have different parts numbers and for some reason a left fj spring I $8 more than the right retail! Even OME springs are different, one is slightly longer than the other!

Sure do wish I thought of that before starting, but oh well! So what color goes with what side? Why in the world are they not stamped R and L like most parts?

As he said, all is well now after swapping them. I think there is still some difference but not much. Will have measurements and pics posted in a day or two.

A couple of thoughts to ease your mind: 1) If you're around .5" difference or less you're doing fine. Most lean a bit. 2) When measuring make sure the steering wheel dead straight. If it's off center at all it'll lift the side that's turned out.

Thanks for the tips Chris! Toytec has a 1/4" spacer I may add later if it is close to .5" off.

Just drove about 100 miles so I hope it has settled all it will. Right now both sides are showing exactly 1.5" of lift, which is perfect. Tires to come tomorrow and pics after that. Thanks everyone, ill have a new thread posted up with the pics, stay tuned.

How's your rear height control reacting to the front lift? I have a 1" topout spacer installed but I still want a little more lift. I was told I can't go too much higher in the front or it will start to mess with the height control sensors.

Is everything working out for you so far? If it is i'm gonna find myself a set of FJC front springs too

Not a problem. The rear does sit a little higher (auto-levelling) and I haven't had any issues with it going too low or too high.

Iwas also told that anything over 1" couldcause issues with the rear air, but none so far. I may have gone higher if I knew that. There is a mod that allows you to adjust the rear air systems to raise the rear up to an inch (and stay there).I started to try this, but I dont really off road so as long as it is level im happy. The only bad part about rear air is that now the front glides over stuff but you feel it in the back. I love the system so ill deal with it, but a full spring swap would ave been nice.

after you swap the springs, is the yellow/green on the driver side and green/gray on the passenger side? i'm installing my this weekend so i want to make sure i tell the shop the right thing. thanks!
