I need an In-Dash CD player with a front panel auxillary input for my iPod. So far all I've found are Sonys (which I constantly hear are horrible), and the JVC-KDG510 which I've owned in the past. I'm looking for something different, so if you guys know about any, please inform me!! Thanks :D

well ive always been a fan of alpine. they're kinda expensive, but ive been able to find good deals on ebay or other online stores. just don't get the ones with the glide touch. that's probly the worst thing they've ever done. anywho, i just bought the cda-9856, which should be here either this week or the beginning of next. its the same as the 9857 minus the remote and a different display

Make sure you also look at ones with input on the back, it is not hard to snake a cable from the back to the front and then you can still hook it up and then hide the cable when you dont want to use it. A lot of players offer rear mini jack plugs

Most of the new models that are coming out you can purchase an adapter for the specific brand. Varies in price from each manufacturer. Alpine's 06' models are IPOD ready. All you need is the adapter which runs about $30 and you can charge and control the IPOD from the Head Unit itself.

thanks for the suggestions.. after hourssss of online searching i think i've decided on the JVC-KDG820.. it has a front panel USB input, which is full speed and will charge the iPod at the same time.. no need for "snaking cords." hopefully it will be of as good as or better quality than my previous JVC head unit. :)
