Need to buy a cb radio.

I need to buy a cb radio for my next offroading outing on November 20th through the 22nd. Many of the forum members are using the 18 wx st cb, and it seems to be a nice product. I have done my fair share of research and have google quite a bit on this subject. I would like to know from personal on hands experience if this cb radio would be fine. If you would like to recommend another cb radio, or even a newer model please do so.

That is the radio you want, trust me. It works great and when you install it into your dash it looks like it was meant to be there. I don't think i've seen another model that fits so well. Just remember that when you install it that you will need a 90 degree coax elbow adaptor to make it fit perfect. I think it costs like $3 at radio shack. Here is mine:

I have 2 75 WX ST in my Toyota's and like them alot. They are small and compact and have the same power as the bigger models. The right anntena is key when getting any cb radio.

We install these in Jeep TJ's beacuse they have limited space in the cab and not one complaint about the quality as of yet.

He has a double DIN radio so the slick mounting of the 18 wont work for him. I have suggested the 75 as mentioned by DesertFab and or the Cobra 19 or Uniden 510 since both of the last two can be mounted where the Ash tray goes.

I also agree a quality Coax and the proper Antenna is key to a good install. I just wish I had a little extra cash so I could mount mine instead of the temporary set-up I have now.

Just ordered my Cobra 18 and will have it next week. Now to go mount my antenna. Still deciding on that one.

yeah if you got the double din then mounting it where the ash tray is would be the next best spot. But I'd go with one of those skinnier ones instead of the 18 wxst.... whatever it is.

I am mounting my 18 same place as you since the radio is the same. The 19 looks good where the ashtray is, Isaw someone else post it in the 3rd gen section not long ago. I think he will be happy.

Well I finally got my cb radio and went with the cobra 19 dvx. I plan to do the install this weekend will put some pictures when done.
