Need Your Opinions

T4Rs,

I am looking do upgrade soon, but I am currently torn between some decisions. I am trying to stay under a $500 with new mods.

Audio
I currently have a 12 MTX sub with a MTX 500watt one channel amp.
Should I upgrade to...
-new sub (12 JL or 2 10 JL...customize to fit truck better?)
-new speakers
-new 4channel amp
-new speakers and new 4channel amp
-or leave as is

Lift
Currently stock
Should I...
-level front (daystar 1in)
-level front and back (daystar 2.5/1.5)
-or nothing

Tint
20% all around (not windshield)
Should I...
-30% windshield
-35% front with 5% back
-or leave as is

Exhaust
Currently stock
Should I...
-Flowmaster 50 series (chrome tip?)
-Magnaflow
-Dual exhaust brola (haven't heard in person, but heard good things)
-Dual exhaust magnaflow (heard in person on t4r sounds amazing)
-Or leave as is

Let me know your thoughts. I'd prefer to expand upgrades to all parts of t4r, but if you think one area is most important say so- Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,

Dr. Doeback

Sounds about like me. Personally I'm not too into aftermarket stereo's. I used to be and got tired of my car getting broken into so I learned to be satisfied with a stock look. At most at some point I'll get a 4 channel amp and drive 4 aftermarket speakers but from the outside it'll appear stock. But my list of things I want to do looks like this:

1. Bilstein 5100 shocks with some FJ springs - achieve a little lift and leveling
2. Catback exhaust
3. Possible upgrade stereo

The only problem with the lift is that you generally would want new tires too. So I'm probably going to wait until it's new tire time to do it.

Would Bilstein 5100 shocks with some FJ springs sit as high or higher than a daystar 2.5/1.5 level with stock tires? (basically which with same size tires sits higher)

Definitely 5100/FJC coil swap to level the front (up to you as to what setting, .85 if you have a V6 and 1.75 if you have V8). If your on a budget like me, why not just do the resonator delete mod and put a tip on with a side exit instead of full cat-back exhaust. Save some $$$$. Stereo is up to you, I love a good system but I'd rather spend my $$$ on other mods. Good luck Dr. Doebeck.

"wanna go do karate in the garage? Hell yeah!"

what is best to buy for a side exit tip? is resonator delete mod exactly what it sounds like-removing resonator and leaving stock muffler?
why does everyone suggest Bilstein 5100/FJ springs instead of daystar level?

I would do the 1" Daystar lift, and window tint. Leave the stereo and exhaust as is for now. You should be able to stay under $500 but still see a big difference. However, if you choose to go bigger (than 1") on the lift, buyer beware, you will then want to buy bigger tires to fill the new wheel well gap created by the lift.

You've already got the sub/system, so my vote is to do this (in no particular order):
1. Lift front/back
2. Window tint definitely
3. Any other audio upgrades I'd do in the order of importance or whatever is still stock, then upgrade from there. I wouldn't get a new sub/amp since you already have those, but I would get an amp for the speakers if you want to upgrade the sound/power....

For tint I was thinking taking 20% off front two windows and adding 35% (legal limit in GA) and 5% all over back (illegal...I think?). What do you guys think?

Hey Doebeck, this is a drunk response, but the truth. do the modification that will make the most difference...a lift. since you don't offroad that much do the 2.5/1.5 Daystar for cheap, it'll make your ride look like it should have from the factory. Best bang for your buck man
