Needed... Rear springs

I'm looking to replace my rear springs with stock and am hoping that one of you folks who've recently upgraded your rear may be looking to sell.

Not looking to upgrade at this time, just want springs that aren't mushy (yes I know about the service bulletin, mine doesn't qualify because it was sold in Canada).

I've got a set from my 98 and since my lift, been wonderin what to do with them. I don't know if they would be mushier than your old ones. They weren't too bad but there is a big difference after my new ones went in (obviously). :biggrin2:

Just ordered my OME lift kit. Due to install next weekend. Don't know yet if I will be willing to let go of my stock, but PM me in a few weeks if you are still looking. I have an '01 SR5 4WD, stock is still in good shape, not mushy, just wanted the lift.

Speaking of which, I also have rear sag. One of these days Ill get around to seeing if I qualify for the recall but Im not holding my breath. I know everyone says the later 3rd gens all sit taller. Could I just get a set of rear springs from a late model 3rd gen and install them on my rear or is there more to it then that? Im not really looking for a lift kit, just want my rear either level with or taller then the front.

98's springs were apperently a 1/2" shorter than the 99 talls and after 99 it was all downhill on height. So 99 talls are what you want, but 98 is a close 2nd.

Thanks man. So when you say 99 talls, are there shorter springs from 99 also, or were all 99 springs "talls"? And could I just have them installed on my shocks, or would I need new shocks too?

There were 2 different types of 99 springs, the regulars which most non-limited and non-highlanders had, and the springs that came on all highlanders and all limited's and maybe some SR5's which were called the "99 Talls"

Yeah, its only a 1" difference, the stock shocks are supposed to be rated for a 1" lift. But i say just buy new shocks, the ride is way better, unless you just bought a new set then don't.

Thanks again man. I have to go through my receipts but I think the previous owner replaced them not too long ago so Im hoping to do just springs. I wonder if Id even notice the 1 inch though, though it would probably end up being more then that altogether since my current ones Im guessing are below the stock height they should be.
