hey guys i just put a k&n fipk2 and i love it and my 4runner is running better what else can i do to make my 4runner perform even better
nees some advise plz help

Let me define pricey above as anything that will cost over $500 w/o install. For what you get in added performance, many have debated whether the mods were really worth it from a dollar perspective.
What I have is a FIPK and a magnaflow muffler (more freeflow). This muffler was pretty cheap so in relation to the dollars, not very much improvement. If anything, it sounds better.
If you want to drop about $5k, you can have a s/c, all the fuel mods you need, headers, simple engine management and you'll get about 265 rwhp and up depending on what pulley you use.

thanks guys but i been researching k&n fipk and i am reading alot of negatives meanin loosing hp and theres a chance of dirt getting in my engine through the cone filter just wondering whats ur take on that

To be honest, Gadget has dyno runs to prove that he lost power w/ the FIPK. If I knew this before I bought one, I would have not purchased one and would have probably done the deckplate mod. Remember, depending on how the dyno was set and what conditions the motor was in can have a direct effect on the numbers.
On another note, it's really weird that K&N has a dyno for a 3.4 Tacoma that gained 11 hp from the kit. Not to mention that a company as big as K&N would put out a product that would lose hp.
At the end, I feel a power difference and I like the way it looks. As far as getting gunk in your motor, it's the idiots that overoiled their filters that had issues. If you read the directions from K&N, one shouldn't oil their filter until 50k miles IIRC or some obscene mileage like this. When you do oil it, there are specific directions on how to do it so I'm not holding my breath that I'll have issues w/ my FIPK.

same here bro if i knew about it i would have done the deck plate mod too but i like the way it looks and the way it sounds so i m going to stick with till something major goes wrong but thanks for all the posts
