Negative caster bad?

I have recently installed Icon stage 1 and was really happy with the outcome. Took it to Toyota dealer the other day for alignment. My camber and toe are within spec. However, the caster is off spec. Left caster is 1.6 while right is -0.2. The tech said that that's the best he could do since the bushing and the eccentric screw in the lower control arm are seized.

Many people said that caster only affect drivability (i've done my search). My car still drive straight even at high speed and my steering wheel still returns to normal position after a turn so in terms of drivability, I don't think it have changed that much.

My question is that on a long term, does having a negative caster affect the wear of the components (shocks, cv axles, etc,...) in the vehicle? Do you think a negative caster in general will affect the vehicle in a negative way?

you didnt get what you paid for.
if i were you, id take it back. part of his job is to get those adjusters to move, and use them.


neg caster isnt good. it probably wont affect tire wear too much. and im surprised it drives good. usually neg caster makes the vehicle hard to drive. they like to wander, and in general arent fun.

I could do that, but then the dealer will charge me for the components and the time to replace the lower control arm, which will round up to around $700.

I will eventually replace the lower control arm myself, but not until next summer or so.
