Neo-Wedge LED Bulbs

Hey, guys. So I'm in the final stages of my LED interior conversion but I've hit one snare.

The only bulbs I still need to replace are the rear window, ECT, and A/C button. After sifting through the 21-page thread here and the other equally long (and confusing) thread on YotaTech, I've still been unable to reach a definite conclusion on which LED bulbs I need to replace these 3 buttons.

I took off the whole stereo/dash panel and found that there are only 2 bulbs supplying light to the A/C, rear window, and ECT buttons. So which 2 Neo-Wedge bulbs do I need and what size?

I've heard from some that I need two Type-A Neo Wedge (8mm) bulbs.

And again others have said that they used Type-B Neo Wedge bulbs.

I have a '99 and I know the bulbs differ from year to year, even from '99-'02. So can someone, preferably someone with a '99, tell me which Neo-Wedge bulbs I need? And could you also provide a link? I would prefer to avoid autolumination after hearing the horror stories of members who had bad experiences with their products. V-LEDs doesn't have them listed on their site but someone said they do have Neo-Wedge bulbs in their inventory, you just have to email them. I've had some less-than-stellar experiences with V-LEDs recently but I don't know of any other reliable sites to order from.

So in summary: Which Neo-Wedge bulbs do I need to replace the A/C, rear window, and ECT bulbs on my '99?

Thanks a bunch.

In my search I just came across the site SuperBrightLEDs. Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they reliable and do they produce quality products?

This is what I found at their site in terms of Neo-Wedge bulbs:

Neo-Wedge Series LED

I measured the bulb I removed from my rear window switch and the Neo-3x size bulb should fit. I won't place the order until I get some feedback from you guys but hopefully I found the right bulb.

SuperBrightLEDs also has many of the same products as V-LEDs but for relatively cheaper prices. Hopefully someone else has good things to say about their experiences with SuperBrightLEDs so I can confidently order the remaining bulbs from them and finally finish my LED conversion.

I just ordered every single LED that you listed in the LED thread. Today I pulled eveything apart so I could see what I had to look forward to. While I was looking at the ECT, Defrost, A/C and rear window bulbs I accidentally crushed one of them. I bought a pack of 4 blue LEDs from advanced auto parts today to I could put 2 in my cup holders and I ended up just pushing those into the holes for those buttons. Ill take some pictures to show you and be more specific tomorrow. I order all the LEDs 2 days ago and I CANT WAIT!!!

I bought LEDs from them. Good prices and fast shipping was my experience.

Yeah I broke the bulb for the rear window switch before I realized that you can't actually remove the bulb itself and the entire housing is replaced with a neo-wedge LED.

So what size were the LEDs you bought from Advanced Auto Parts that you used for the A/C, ECT, rear window, rear defrost?

Good, thank you for the reply. Did you do an LED interior conversion? You have a '99 so if you replaced the A/C, ECT, Rear window/defrost I'd love to hear which bulbs you used.

I just did the HVAC control bulbs. I think I got 2 type A's and two type B's. Will have to check on that, though.

HVAC meaning the A/C, rear defroster, rear window, ECT? Or the climate control knobs and the rest of that section?

I also need to correct myself, I forgot to include the rear defroster bulb in my original post. So there are 3 bulbs I need to figure out which size LED bulb will work.

And did you order your Neo-Wedges from SuperBrightLEDs, Qyota?

Yes, I ordered from them.

Our climate controls are different. On my limited, it's a digital display...so the bulbs I got probably don't mean much to you!

Totally Reliable

I've purchased a lot of products from them with no hassle fast delivery and the brightest LED'S as far as I'm concerned-Buy from them, you also could order just 1 or 2 of what you want if not sure of size, some bulbs also have different light spreads as opposed to forward facing only bulbs. Now is there anyone out there who can tell me how do I get to the bulbs once I've removed the white plastic cover on the back of the Speedo/Tach/Gas/Engine Temp/High Beam Indicator etc. unit ? What I'm faced with is these black caps/covers where you would expect them to be-on the backs of the needle gauges, but am not going any further till I hear back from JustAnswer.com-yes it cost me $15 to find out how to remove the HVAC w LCD display panel and the speedo unit but it was worth it to find out how to do it without breaking anything plastic tab-wise. But if anyone out there knows about those black caps let me know please ! Sean aka Locobear Thanks
