Nerf Bars, Gas Milage, and timing belt

Couple of questions

1) Im looking for a set of crome nerf bars for my 99 SR5...anyone know where there's a good deal?

2) Any easy upgrades to improve gas milage...intake exaust type stuff?

3) My trucks at 100,000 and Im not sure if the timeng belt was ever done....should a spend the money to change it and the water pump out, or see how long it will last?

4) Did this model come with a keyless remote system (Its not a Limited)?

I believe Westin makes a nice set of nerf bars for 3rd gens, try the Performance Products website for ideas, they are pricey so maybe buy from someone else.

Gas mileage, not really much you can do there, air intakes won't give you much MPG increse nor will exhaust. You could try all synthetic fluids, diffs, oil and tranny and keep a clean air filter.

If you are at 100k I would go ahead and do the T belt and water pump, interval is 90k and while the motor in non interfernece do you really want to risk being stuck somewhere?

IIRC keyless entry became standard in 01, if you don't have an alarm you may not have it, but I don't know that for sure.

If the T belt isn't in the budget right now then you could stretch it out for a while longer since I rarely hear about the belt breaking even well past 100k.

My truck just happens to be in the shop this very minute getting it's T belt and water pump and I'm almost at 138k and my mechanic said the belt was still in good shape but I figured it was time and I had the money and off road season is starting about now and I don't want to be stuck on a trail.

There isn't really anything you can do to truly add to the MPGs but an exhaust will help a little but the gain would be so little it wouldn't offset the cost of the gas used for a while. The best thing is to drive with a light foot and avoid too many MPHs over 75.

Yes,the SR5 should have keyless standard in '99.
