Neutral Rollover Rattle

My 1994 Surf diesel (automatic) is making a horrible rattling noise when i come off the throttle or when i'm coasting in neutral.:dammit: It goes when the vehicle comes to a complete stop.

I have put this down to being what's known as neutral rollover rattle or idle rattle.

Does anyone have anymore info on the subject? ie what causes it, can it be fixed?:nerd:
