New 02 4runner owner with some questions.

First post on the forum.
A little BIO, My grandma bought the 4runner Sports Edition 2wd 10 years ago new. It has been in a accident, but has been fixed, it doesn't even have the original chassis, but still the same 02 runner chassis. Last Year (Sept. 23) the runner has been passed down to me for my 16 Birthday and I love it.

Me Being 16 I know a ton about cars for my age (Building Classic Muscle with my Dad and his buddy to lifting trucks, and lowering and bagging trucks/cars) so no need to dumb things down for me.

So my questions would be:

What springs and shocks will give her a 2"lift (I heard there are other toyota trucks springs/shocks that will do so)

What Tire Size would make her look aggressive and taller with the 2" lift, with little or no rub at all.

My Dad wants to put Airbags in the rear along with lifting it 2" what are some good kits or brands out there?

This is just a prerunner, and may not be used for major off road at all.

If anyone has links to where to buy any of the above I am looking for please do so.

I love your 4Runner man, super clean! As far as the lift goes, I think the '99 tall coils will lift '02's about two inches, so I would just go that route. As far as tires, I would get some 265/75/R16's (32's). Also check out the sticky's at the top of the forum. Plenty of good info there. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

The story of the Chassis was my Grandma got rear ended pretty bad, and TOYOTA themself built pretty much a brand new SUV of the whole rear end.

Some Questions:

I am planing to go the Old Man Emu (OME) Lift Spring route with a 2.5" in the front and a 3" in the rear. But was hoping that it could be level in example both front and rear have the same amount of lift. What would your suggestions be?

Also:
Is there any air bag solutions for the rear at all?

You can get some trim packs for the front to level it out. As far as bags in the rear, what's your intended purpose? Are you wanting to have some added support in the rear when you're towing? Or are you talking about bags that actually raise and lower the rear?

I would say, just to soften up the ride if possible?

To be honest, I've only dealt with airbags to add support to the rear of my old truck when I would load it. If you want a lift in the rear with a good soft ride, look at a set of LC coils. Downsides can be that they don't take weight well (will sag under load), but you should be able to find a set for $50-75.

Old man emu makes a specific rear lift that raises our 3rd gens 2", I believe it is the ome 906's, someone correct me if I am wrong. And you could always add a top plate spacer to level the truck out in front, but a lot of people on here don't like that option because it puts your truck at a great risk. But since you mentioned you won't be doing much offroading it could be a really good option to look into.

i run OME 881 + top plate spacer in the front. OME 890's /w airlift 1000 air bags and 10mm trim packers. It sits very level and handles some decent loads well for a 2.5" lift. I tow a double jet ski trailer from nor cal to socal with about 5-700lbs in the back of the truck when moving home for longer school vacations.

I have a 2002 Sport and I also run the Airlift 1000 bags to tow a 19.5 ft boat on '99 coils. The ride is good and you can adjust the bags until you get the right feel. It was an easy install that can be done in a couple hours. Or less...since you're underage and probably won't be having a few beers while doing it...olice:
I spent $65 on the kit.

Clean rig, I like it!

I will look into this as well, I may not be doing off road due to the lack of 4wd. lol

How much lift do you have?
Unless my dad drinks the whole bottle of red lol. Thanks for answering as well! My Dad and I are both Gear Heads so we work as a team

I am bringing back this thread so I do not need to make another. I have a question with the: '99 tall coils is this for the front and rear?

I have since then installed the air ride bags, and figured out it lifts the truck as well in the rear. (unless I am not used to it without the sag)
