New 02 4runner sport

I just bought a new 02 runner sport edition but have one concern. When I went to the dealer to drive it they had it in 4 low with the center diff locked. They said they were just making sure everything worked after recon. How concerned should I be? I know you're not supposed to drive like that on dry pavement.

they did the same with ours in the parking lot when we got it new. but they kept it in a straight line as to not put soo much stress on the axles. what were the details of the reconditioning?

just new tires, brakes, battery, belts, etc. Everything else seems to check out ok. I'm bringing it to a toyota dealer to have them certify it
