Hey all-- new guy here and to 4runners. My wife and I bought an 02 4x4 SR5 4runner back in October. It needs alot of work thanks to the previous owner-- looks like they had it offroad alot and possibly took it through some water crossings (1" of dirt inside the frame rails). They didn't put much effort/money into maintenance either. Here are my plans:
1. New suspension - 99 coils / tokico shocks.
2. Prep/paint the frame to protect from rust.
3. Replace much of the interior, including carpet, trim pieces, rear seats.
4. Paint job $$$$
5. Tires
We've already had the timing and all other belts replaced, water pump, all fluids flushed/filled, spark plugs, battery. It's got 92,000 miles on the clock, hopefully once we're done with it, we'll log many more. Pics to follow.
I also have an 06 4x4 Taco.
