New 03 T4R owner here

Hello everybody,

I just bought a used 2003 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition 2wd v8 with 109k miles over the weekend. It has great power, better MPG compared to similar SUVs I looked at and a lot more of a luxury feel. It does have some minor cosmetic issues and some that are worse but that's all okay because mechanically every seems really strong. I wasn't pleased with the price I paid but it was a reasonable deal.

I used to own a 1995 T4R SR5 4wd 5spd about 6 years ago and have been missing it since I got rid of it. It had some bad body damage when I bought it as a beater and wasn't ever worth getting it repaired.

I wanted a 99-02 but I couldn't find one for a good price with decent miles. So far though I'm very extremely pleased with this one.

What sort of cosmetic issues?

I plan to get around to taking some photos sometime this week or weekend. I need to clean it a little better than what it was when I got it.

Not sure what all I'll do in the near future except maybe add a Homelink upper console. I just want to make sure first it's going to be a reliable vehicle for a long time to come.

As far as cosmetic issues, it has a lot of scratches--some might come out after a good buffing but some will need touch up paint--and the previous owner had 2 dogs that rode a lot with her that scratched up the rear seats and some of the trim. The driver seat has a lot of wear in the leather and there's a small rip in the passenger seat. All I can remember off the top of my head right now.

I paid $13,090 out the door including the dealer's fees and my trade-in worth $500.

I wanted to stay under $12.5k but I hadn't found any around that price.

The trade-in was a 97 Chevy Lumina with 128k miles. It started overheating on hot days about 2 weeks ago. It was time to get rid of it.
