New 05 4runner climate controls lights not all on?

I just got a 05 4runner limited and noticed the climate controls with Off, Low, High, dot and dot do not light up at night; is this how it's supposed to be? The arrows on the selected function do light up but not the words. The other control function names (the two right knobs) light up fine.

If they should light up any ideas on how to fix this?

This happened to me on Monday. You need to replace the small bulb that lights the knob. It's very simple to do yourself and I found the bulbs at Radioshack. Try a search to find the thread or maybe someone will post the how-to. I don't have time to post it all right now, sorry.

Thanks for the reply. I did find a few posts on replacing the bulbs but I can't find the Radio Shack part numberand/or size. Do I just need the 12V long yellow or short. Also show I replace all three to make sure the lights match?

Mine went out so I pulled it out- it's super easy. I still haven't replaced it though HAHA. My "off" button never illuminated from day one, however.

The "Off" button doesn't come with a bulb.

One of the posts has the dealer part number, only $3 so why not give Toyota the business they need to pay for all those repairs
