New '05 SE, creaking hatch

Been a long time reader, first time poster! Just got a new '05 SE for a steal at the stealership and love it so far. but i do have the infamous driver seat popping/clunking noise and as well as some creaking from the rear hatch. Before I take it back to get the truck serviced, has anybody had a problem with the rear hatch creaking while it's opening? It seems to creak only at the last second when the rear hatch is at the top. the creaking sound is only on the left side. but overall, i love the truck and can't wait to start modding it!

Congrats on the purchase! What color di you end up getting? I don't think I hear any creaking when the hatch opens unless I just don't notice it. Is it really loud? I would think as long as the hydraulics are lifting it all the way there isn't a problem.

Thanks! I got the titanium metallic. It's actually more than a creaking and more of a popping. it's noticable. I'm sure it's not coming from the hydaulics but rather from the hinge thingy. It actually sounds like the body of the truck is being stretched when the hatch is at its top most position.

Try lubbing the latch. That's what work for me. Goodluck!!
