New '06 4runner owner needs tire advice

Well I finally got the vehicle I wanted after 25yrs..I have a 06 4runner limited 4x4.. It has factory p265 60 18 on it. I'm putting a 2.5 front lift and a 1.5 rear lift so my next question is tires. due to me driving a lot for my job I can't put big monster tires on but I want something to give it a bulkier off road look. The 18 inch tires are wayyy more expensive than 16 inch. I have access to 16 inch factory rims and was wondering which way would look the best. Will 16 look too small? This is a great forum and any advice will be appreciated.

Check out 255/70/18's. I'm running the equivalent size but for 17" wheels, looks awesome, taller than stock, and also better, yes better, gas mileage than with stock tires. Check the link in my sig (click where it lists my lift/tires) for pics of mine. Welcome to the forum!

first of all, big congrats on the acquisition. welcome.

second and lastly, there is no substitute for great tires. BFG TA KOs are simply awesome.

I'd do the Firestone Destination A/T (this is not your grandfather's Firestone. These are good tires). In the 255/70/18 size they are very reasonable. They show as $146 on Tirerack and some research will reveal they'll do exactly what you're looking for

Toyo Open Country A/T or H/T would be a good choice too (and they're affordable). The final tire to investigate is the RFM10 Hankook. That's all IMHO, of course

My personal order choice would be Hankook, Firestone, Toyo. If you want a super on-road tire that will work in light snow and look good move the Toyo H/T to the top, Firestone 2nd.

If you want a beefier off-road look, you should consider adding wheel spacers. Even with stock tires and a similar lift, the spacers seemed to transform the look.

I would keep the 18's and get a slightly larger tire if you can fit it into your budget.

thanks eveyone for the in put.. I'll stick with my 18 inch rims.. finished my daystar 2.5/1.5 and it looks great.
