New '08 4Runner Owner

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to say thanks for the forum as I've been doing a lot of research on a new SUV and have settled on a 4Runner - that should be here in 2 weeks!

2008 Limited V8 4Runner in Shadow Mica w/ the rear air suspension & navigation and 4 miles on the odo. Price: $39,000

1. Going to Tahoe so I went with the Weathertech floor liners to deal with the snow & dirt.
2. Aiming for 20% window tint on the side windows to match the rear.
3. Getting the 3M clear bra for the rock chips. My 2006 G35 w/ 62,000 miles looks wonderful still.
4. After a little breakin, going to go with Mobil 1 synthetic for the oil
5. Because of the rear suspension, can only lift the front - and the general consensus says that 1.5" to 2.5" should work as the rear will automatically compensate.

So... I'm looking for suggestions/advice/recommendations for anything else I'm missing.

Got it!

349 miles from San Jose to South Lake Tahoe, average 19.7 MPG displayed (18.5 measured) at 47 MPH. Better mileage than expected.

X-REAS helps a lot on the windy stretches of road, particularly around the sweepers on highway 50. Suspension going over the speed bumps in parking lots ~15 MPH definately let me know its a bit stiffer than the non X-REAS models I drove (~2000 miles).

Navigation works great, better than what I had on my G35 (non-touch screen) plus the bluetooth integration with the IPhone was easy. Haven't figured out the sync method yet, so have been putting in phone numbers manually.

Moon roof size surprised me, it's much larger than I expected (compared to cars) and lets the moon in at night.

Definately liking the Shadow Mica color! Its definately not black (has speckles!) and is definately darker than the gray I'm seeing everywhere.

The Michelin tires aren't bad. There is little road noise and the traction in the snow is better than on previous 4Runners I've rented.

First mod: Weathertech floor liners. SOOOO nice! These catch a lot of the dirt from the snow and mud up here in Tahoe.

Second mod: Clear Bra / Armor. It has held up well (62,XXX miles on the G35) and I had it done to this car. Expert installation, they tucked in the edges into the grill and custom fit a few pieces. NOT NOTICEABLE unless you're looking for it, and up close.

Third mod: 20% window tint on the front windows. Initially, it looked about 2% too dark, but I've gotten used for it and it completely seems to blend in.

The Clear Bra and Window tint cost me $585 and was done in 6 hours by Omega Tintwerks in Pleasanton.

Third mod: Removed the "Greens" badge they put on top of the Toyota on the rear door.

Fourth mod: Added the Toyota bug deflector, color match is perfect for the Shadow Mica.

Supposed to be 3 feet of pow-pow tonight so will take some pictures and toss them into the gallery

So happy!
