This is my new 2002 4x4 SR5. I'm quite proud of her. Looked for a while and finally found what I was wanted. Had a hard time finding a 3rd gen that wasn't from the rust belt. Found a lot of good looking T4Rs but all had rust in undercarriage.
I dropped her off at my mechanic this morning, who I have used for many years, expecting to drop quite a bit on routine maintenance. I told him to tear it apart. I got a call this afternoon and he told me he was blown away by what was done to the vehicle prior to purchase.
New drive belts, timing belt, pulleys, most likely water pump he says, front brake pads, spark plugs, all fluids (brake, transmission, coolant) all just flushed and replaced, etc... All he could find to do was replace air filter and oil change.
Oil change, air filter, and half an hour labor cost me $89! I was expecting to drop 800+. I'm am still trying to figure out why someone would do so much maintenance and then sell the vehicle.
I ran the carfax. No funny business.
