Hi all, I'm new here. Great forum.

I've been looking for a new SUV to replace my 100k mile Disco and once the 4runner became a serious contender for my next vehicle I did a lot of research, including joining this forum. I also considered, LR3, Touareg, XC90, Xterra, Jeep. But the 4runner won out as I am needing a "very reliable" vehicle and I am tired of knowing mechanics on a first name basis.

Well, after much weekend analizing and at least 5 to 6 test drives I picked a 2007 Shadow Mica Sport. Great truck !!! I was trying to get Leather but I decided to give the stock interior a try and got a great deal for a stock vehicle. It came typicaly equipped for the North East - Sun roof, 6CD changer, DRL. So far so good, love the pwr seats and the awesome ride of this truck.

I went with the Sport over the SR5 mainly for the x-reas and the awesome looking rims. I liked the Sport ride and I also wanted the larger brakes as I drive up and down steep hills daily. I test drove an SR5 and Sport on the same visit to a dealer to get a good feel for it.

So, picked up a set of Toyota all weather mats yesterday (a must IMO) and I'm all set.

Looking forward to many trouble free miles !

Pics will come eventually, but it looks like the other Shadow Sports.:D

Congratulations!!! :D Shadow Mica is an awesome color! (ok, I'm biased) Enjoy your new truck.

Shadow hoodscoop +1 :p

Congrats and welcome!

Hey, you finally pulled the trigger! Congratulations! You will not regret the decision.

As you know I weighed the same alternatives (Jeep Grand Cherokee, Xterra, LR3) and decided on the 4R.

Reliability and price won out in the end. And Shadow Mica is awesome color.

Even though your truck prolly looks like other Sports in Shadow Mica, post up pics asap. There's nothing we love more than looking at more pics of the same trucks!

Welcome to the board.:)

Thanks everybody !

Got a chance to test out the 4WD, brakes and stock Dunlop tires today in the snow, slush and ice.

Gotta say I was pretty impressed, and the roads were a mess too.

I agree that the all weather mats are a must especially when one lives in an area that gets snow/ice.
They take a beating and keep coming back for more.

Earlier this week I took my snow tires off (temps were in the 60s and 70s here) and went back to the Dunlops.
The trip home from work tonight in the snow was no big deal (even with the Dunlops).
Gotta love how the 4Runner simply gets the job done.
