New 2010 4runner wont start! Help Please.

I bought my 4runner about a month ago and this morning I tried to start it and the engine turned over for about 1 sec and died. I tried again and it did it again. I hear the fuel pump so I know thats working (I'm guessing). theres gas in the truck. If I try to start it w/o turning the key back to the acc position it wont catch (restarting the car from the on position after a fail attempt). So I've tried several times to start the car, shutting it off and pulling the key out after each attempt and it catches and the rpm goes up to about 1k and it shuts down.

WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

FYI when I bought the car, the salesman tried to show me how the remote start feature worked and it would just crank but not catch so they had to fix it and it worked thereafter. Could this be causing the problem (the remote start)? I doubt it because the car has been working fine everyday since until today.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.:redbrick:

Why aren't you calling the dealership to come pick it up? Fully covered under warranty and they should have a car for you to drive. Don't accept "no start" problem and try to figure it out on your own.

EXACTLY! I wouldn't be sitting at home scratching my head and trying to troubleshoot, I'd be on the phone yelling at them why they weren't there yet picking it up with your loaner...

:wtf:

Update:

I tried to start it later in the day that same day...around 2pm and it started up no problem. I drove it to the toyota dealership and they took a look at the car and couldnt figure out the problem, so I drove it back home. they told me as soon as it happens to call me and they would tow it. Next day sure enough it didnt work early in the morning again (about 40 degrees). This time I tried the remote start and it started right up. So...whatever they fixed the 1st time f'd up the key start. Remote start works but key start wont (in cold weather?). Before, it was the other way around.

And as for not having them tow the car...I didnt have time that morning to wait for them to come due to meetings. I was going to have them tow it in the afternoon when I had time, but as soon as it started up I decided to drive it there.

In conclusion I dont know what the problem could be but I know the key start works in the afternoon when the weather is warm and doesnt work early in the morning when it's below 40 degrees for some reason. The remote start works all the time regardless of weather. The car is at the dealership being fixed, hopefully. I have no choice but to trust that they will fix whatever they screwed up in the 1st place lol.
