new 2011 limited with jbl nav question

The wife and i just got our new 2011 limited 4runner today ... all seems good with it except the nav or maybe i am doing something wrong ..

in my other vehicle i just have a plain old garmin nuvi which gives you the option of seeing the map from a street view or from over head .. i prefer the street view look as it seems a little more modern and easier to follow .. is there anyway to change from a overhead view to a street view look ???
because the way it looks now is the way nav systems looked 10yrs a go ...

any info would be great

Congrats on your new Runner. You are doing nothing wrong, there is NO way to change the "view" of the map. The GPS of 10 years ago you CAN NOT compare to today's units (OEM or otherwise). Good Luck

agreed , but the map graphics on this new jbl are about as good as my 2001 garmin vista handheld unit .. yes the options and fetures are much better but the look of the map are a bit to be desired ... i must admit i am a bit disapointed with that part of it .....

Subjective. Not trying to be hard on ya, but MOST new luxury cars have the GPS view like this. But yeah, it would be interesting to have a "bird's eye view". My buddies Infiniti FX has that. I dunno, you can see "more" with a traditional map view........like i said, it's subjective.

It does seem dated, but it does work well. I set it for the lane guidence to pop up, and that part of the screen is in birds eye.
